“Journey” is a short, 2-minute motion graphic film that visually reinterprets the journey of life through the perspective of a quarter.
I focused on creating a film noir-like tone to showcase its solemnity and drew inspiration from silent movies and Pixar shorts that were able to convey meaning with body movement and without dialogue.
The laundromat is a subtle environment detail incorporating the quarter's character setting. It depicts that life's journey can be found anywhere, even in a simple task like laundry.
Sound also becomes an important feature to help reinforce/personify the quarter's movements and provide immersion in a conceptual environment depicting life's ethereal beauty.
